The Harz combines untouched nature with fascinating history – our nature campsite is the perfect starting point to experience both. Nestled in wild and romantic landscapes, you'll find peace, relaxation, and inspiration here.

The campsite (formerly Waldweben), established in 1957, was modernized by us in the winter of 2024 with a sustainable approach. Here, you'll find a place to linger and fully enjoy the beauty of nature in the Harz – all without having to forgo the modern comforts you're accustomed to from Wildwood.

Pitch

All our pitches are surrounded by beautiful nature, very quiet, and located on natural ground. Choose from three different sizes (small, medium, large) when booking. The price includes two people. You can select your preferred pitch when making your reservation.

Large Pitch: Approximately 160 m² in area. Suitable for 1 large camping vehicle (motorhome) up to 9.5 meters in length or 1 large caravan with a car and a tent

The Area

The Upper Harz is a natural refuge that will captivate you with its beauty and vastness. The Harz National Park, just a few kilometers away, offers pristine nature and stunning landscapes. The region is a paradise for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers. Here in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Harz Water Management System, you can still discover traces of mining history in some hidden spots in the forest.

You can experience nature here in all its diversity – from dense forests to rushing streams and clear mountain lakes. A little like Canada.

Activities

Whether you want to lose yourself on a hike through the deep forests of the Harz, explore the region on a mountain bike, or simply enjoy the tranquility at one of the many lakes – the possibilities are almost endless. Even on rainy days, there are plenty of indoor activities, including historical attractions like the Upper Harz Mining Museum or the Iberg Dripstone Cave. And in winter, the Harz transforms into a true winter wonderland – perfect for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or simply taking a stroll through the snowy landscape.
