Sometimes it's the little things that make camping life truly special. Like when you're walking through the woods and suddenly spot a mushroom and wonder, “Can I eat this... or better not?”
For exactly these kinds of questions – and many more – mushroom coach Dennis will be back at Wildwood Camp in 2025.
He’ll be with us in the Lüneburg Heath, and for the first time also in the Harz Mountains. During two weekends, everything will revolve around the fascinating world of fungi.
What exactly is a mushroom? What should you watch out for when collecting? And which species are dangerously toxic?
Dennis will take you on guided walks, show you the most exciting varieties, teach you what’s edible (and what’s absolutely not) – and of course, a little tasting by the campfire is part of the experience.
Mushrooms on crispy baguette with sea salt, chives, and a pinch of adventure? Sounds pretty delicious, right?
Alongside the guided tours, there’ll be plenty of time for camping, relaxing, swimming, or just being outside – all at the easy pace we love at Wildwood. And if you find yourself hooked: Dennis will offer a bonus excursion at the end for anyone eager to dive deeper.
Dates:
August 29–31, 2025 at Wildwood Camping, Lüneburg Heath
September 26–28, 2025 at Wildwood Camping, Harz Nature Park
